Departure: 2.5 weeks

Departure, originally uploaded by ShonC.

Yes, I am counting down. I know I've probably said this to most of you already, but here it is again (just coz I'm excited): I'm in training all this week = learning+fun+opportunity to meet some great people. Back to the office next week for a short week, friday is a holiday and then the friday after that I'll be on a plane!! wohooooo! April 13 also happens to be Songkran, a Thai festival, very similar to Holi. People throw water on each other (no colors.)

I can't wait to get home and play with my niece, Rianna. I saw her last November and she was just gobs of fun to be with. I hear she now says full words and semi-sentences rather than making up her own mono-syllable names for everything.

I feel like I've struck off most things on my Thailand list. Seen the touristy spots, learnt about Thai culture, learnt some nuances of working in Asia, shopped a bit, bought some art for my apartment, took pictures. All that remains is a chocolate buffet at the Suko Thai hotel. Yes you did read correctly, CHOCOLATE BUFFET = unlimited chocolate in all forms. I think I'll go this weekend and get my sugar high. I might have some sort of a sugar hang over. Will one of you please check up on me, just in case I get too wired and spark something off! :)

A slightly long vacation

The Long Tail, originally uploaded by ShonC.

It’s been a while! For any of you that came looking for an update, my apologies. In the past few weeks, I’ve had a friend and then my parents over. Spent a weekend in Pattaya just being beach bums, flew to Krabi in the south and visited Ko Phi Phi and the Phangna district where we had lunch in a floating village, walked around James Bond island and enjoyed long tail boat rides. Gorgeous beaches, friendly people and lots of time on hand to just take it easy, what else could one ask for?
